PAVEMENT ENGINEER

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
QES is searching for a Pavement Engineer to work in the Baltimore, Maryland area in conjunction with a local engineering firm to support State Highway personnel in general pavement design and pavement management related issues.
Specific job duties include:
Help to provide pavement design and rehabilitation recommendations for the Maryland Highway System; review design and pavement management related issues; review design and construction documents; conduct pavement condition surveys; perform FWD back calculations; provide data analysis and interpretation; compile pavement design and write technical memorandums; represent the Pavement Design Team, including responsibility for coordinating with engineers and technical personnel from various agencies and attending team meetings for the subject projects.
The ideal candidate will possess:
 Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's Degree preferred) with focus on Pavements and Materials
Good verbal and written communication skills; experience communicating regular status to clients, superiors, and peers
Comfortable working in a team environment
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and AASHTO Pavement Design, MEPDG, AASHTO/Darwin Design, Layer Elastic Analysis, and FWD Back-Calculation software programs
Attention to detail; approaches work in a meticulous and thorough manner
